I love historic homes! The charm and character just can't be replicated. In 2014, I was so excited to buy our beautiful 1920s brick tudor home. However, soon after we moved in, we found some pretty big (expensive) surprises. So, I understand the practical side of historic homeownership as well.
I want my clients to be able to enjoy their homes and feel confident in their decision. Since 2014 I have been continually learning about older homes and how construction methods and materials have changed over the years. My goal is to educate my clients on which items will be easy to maintain and update versus those which may cause a headache or lead to large expenses.
When my husband and I bought our home in Oakwood, we were told that it had a slate roof. We thought this was great, they last forever! However, when we had a leak and tried to get the roof repaired, we found out it was not in fact slate, it was actually asbestos!!! Talk about a shock! No company would repair the roof, it needed to be replaced!! After moving from a home built in 1999 to a home built in 1929, I realized how much has changed in construction methods and materials in 70+ years. While you can't predict everything as a homeowner, I never want my buyers to encounter a situation like we did.
I've always loved solving problems, which lead me to attend the University of Cincinnati, where I graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After college I worked for Battelle Memorial Institute, using creativity and attention to detail to analyze problems and create solutions for my clients. I bring these skills, along with my love of real estate, to my business to help buyers and sellers make the best decisions, ensuring they feel confident in the purchase and sale of their homes.
One problem in today's real estate market is the lack of available homes for buyers. I solve this problem for my clients by finding off-market properties for them. When a buyer isn't finding the right house, I will work tirelessly (call, send letters, and knock on doors) to find the right off-market property for my clients!
As an Ohio native, I've lived in the Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton areas. I moved to Oakwood in 2014 with my husband and two children. It didn't take us long to fall in love with the community and the history of the Dayton area. We love the parks, restaurants, shops, and neighborhood activities. There's truly something for everyone!
When I'm not busy with real estate, I'm active on the PTO executive board for my children's school. I also enjoy playing tennis, walking our golden retriever, and traveling. My family enjoys boating and spending time together at Indian Lake in the summer.
on positive and negative things about the house. Also she is really responsive! She's really nice and professional. She didn't push me anytime. If you are finding a house in Oakwood, then contact her!”
